Ventoux Trial Classic 2015
10 & 11 octobre

Part 3 dimanche

Sunday again with good weather, cold morning and sunny afternoon. After almost 40 points lost yesterday in 17 zones, I was dedicated to do better today. Mathieu only lost 13. But no, I already made a 5 in the first bend of zone 1, just a bit to less power to pass the nasty roots. But on the other hand, today I passed the zone 2, although with 3 dabs.

Number 3 and 4 were made easier and today I could pass with 3 dabs each. The big rock in zone 4 was still there, but a stone before was removed and one could take now a more direct line. Still, there was a huge 10m rock to climb in the middle, needed some brave throttle hand, but puh, I did it.

Today was mixed for me, some zones better, but on the other hand, I felt my muscles and became tired. Yes, me too 50+. The zones were the same, except one new, which you could not inspect before, but had to ride it. Up a dried waterfall, then left a hill climb, down and then... uups... a quite high 2 meter step, impressive, but no time to be worried, 2nd gear, full throttle and hopp, uff, passed with 1 security dab (the guy before me fell back).

At the end of the day, again two 5er like yesterday, but no crash and man & Honda still in good shape.

So, the VTC 2015 adventure is over. After 2 days riding with friends in the sunny Provence, mastering some nasty zones, watching the champions and smelling the air of Provence, this was a great event to be remembered.

In the difficult red line, only 20 teams attacked the zones. The blue line was more crowded, among there better riders then me, but maybe their you could enjoy more the scenery. The great winners were TRS Classic with Jordi Tarres, Philippe Berlatier and Steve Saunders, they only lost 43.5 points in 3 days. The next was a Pre65 BSA B40 Team Rovira from spain. They are very gifted riders and although the BSA must be inferior to my Honda, their points only counts half. If I could chose to be in front, I would ride a trick Tiger Cub, it is light and the dabs count only half. Or you are that good on your "modern" 1985 twinshock like Jordi Tarres. Anyway, we made a respectable 8th place, just before Team Burgat and Galeazzi. But I must confess, 3 riders with my points would be further back in the classement. Our joker was of cours Mathieu Feidt and Edy Adam made also less points then me.
