Trial de Lyoffans 23/24 April 2016

Moto Club 90 with Jean-Luc Forrestier and Christian Molle organsied again a Twinshock Trial with AFATA status on Sunday 24  April.

When I woke up on Sunday morning, there was hail and rain. Brrr, but you have to support the organiser and so I loaded my Honda on the Honda and drove 2 hours north to France.
I was listening an old CD form Canned Heat: "on the road again"... "in wind and snow" and my mood became sunny.

Unfortuntately, there is more and more requested, that your moto is road legal, with registration paper and an insurance proof. No problem for my Honda, but not all the nice BSA and Ariels are road legal...so besides the missing new entrants to the twinshock scene and the getting older pariticipants, another negative point for the shrinking riders...

Anyway, there were not so many people at the start, although I was one of the last and had to que up in front of the first zone. It was wet, but no more raining with a strong wind, starting to dry the ground in the French woods. However, I used otften the 3rd gear on my TLR 250 and so I was glad I made a shorter 10/46 instead of the mosty used 10/43 secondary. I watched a nice clean of Jack Aebi on his Kawasaki and hoped, I could also find grip, which i did. With 1 point to start I was happy.

Here my choice of the great fotos from Jean Pierre QUEMIN (all fotos are on the link of Moto Club 90). Thanks a lot to Pierre.

After some zones, I became confident, found grip an my worries about slippery impossible zones faded. I returned with 8 points from 10 zones.

One banana gave me power to attack the 2nd round. Now I did no more almost miss blue arrows and the zones dried up, could do most in 2nd gear and returned with 3 points.

I hurried up, as there seemed to be a thunder storm around and I lost only one dab in Sylvianes zone 2.
