Trial Campo Canavese

Giovanni Doughera was calling in mid May nearby Torino. We loaded Walters Renault Espace with his BSA and my Honda TL 250. After the San Gottardo tunnel, we drank the usual espresso at the autostrada café, then Chiasso with stamping Walters BSA documents, then about 2 hours til Campo Canavese, far the Mt. Blanc in the clouds.

The car park was not so crowded as usual, but Michele Ernst from Germany was there and many more friends.

Massimo Sciatareggia gave me a scan  from the 1980 Trial in Domodossola. Mani famous riders on the list are again or still to be met at twinshock trials in Italy: Galeazzi, Adamoli, Baldini, Tosco, Nolli, etc. From the Svizzeri 17 was Walter Frei su SWM, also Luigi Taveri Junior and one of the Stampfli family. A great deay with nice friends has gone. At Campo you are always riding in a team with one local club member writing down at each zona the scores. This give a great ambiance and you make friends. The evening was as usual a great party at the football club house with good italian food, wine an happy people.

After riding the whole morning in the woods, rocks and little rivers, there was an enormous hill climb to the zona above with a lot of stones lying around. Then we went above the tree limit and it took about 15 minutes to climb on an alp. There a lunch with panini, vino, water, café was served. Also some filled up their tanks. A splendid view with a lot of flowers and a lot of cars from the alp road. Then we could enjoy a nice zona in the alps, with grass and stones.

After the climbing to the alpe, we had to go down to the valley. I was ab it afraid about my gasoline, but the 3.8 litre in the tank proved to be enough for my 4 stroker.

A great weekend with nice warm weather is ending. Walti an me had now to drive back 450 km to Zurigo. Many good memories, new friends and a big smile on the face. I was at Campo Canavese 2014. Mille Grazie Giovanni Doughera and team !

There is no official ranking as it is a training an big fun rather than a competition.
