Trial Bellefosse 4/5 Juin 2016

Trial Club Bandelaroche, Haute Vallée de la Bruche

Spécial 30ème édition

Dominique Holfert & team called for the Classic Trial in the Vosges Mountain, Alsace

I already atttended several times and alway liked the cosey atmosphere in the small village, the Flamchueche and beer after the trial.

The zones are all in the wood, about 10km per tour.

This year, my friend Walter Frei had his première here in Bellefosse. Ernst Stampfli & Annemarie, Jo & Gabi were already there, when we arrived.

Weather was wet and rainy. We parked our cars along the street to the village and greated our friends from France, Germany, Belgium and Suisse.

For the start, it was rainy and wet, so we all wore rain suits. However, it was warm and in the woods, the rain stopped.

The zones were nicely adapted to the bad weather conditions and many zones possible to finish with a zero.

Walter missed a flag in the 1st zone, rode the more difficult blue line and got penalised with a 5. Shit happens.

I had a pretty good day, collected some points, but no 5er. Once in the rain suits, it doesn't matter and you can enjoy the trial. Matthieu Feidt made really good zones.

After the trial, we cleaned a bit the bikes, got our cars ready to sleep in the night and went for the apéro to the village hall. There, also a nice diner was served and we ate, drunk and talked a lot.

Vive la France!

On Sunday, rain stopped, but it remained wet.

organiser Dominique Holfert, the Pre65 winner Gunter Rutloff, Walter Frei 2nd

The organisation was perfect, with really ridable zones despite the rain, a great ambiance, with good infrastructure. Unfortunately for the organiser, there were not so many riders, I gusss about 50.

Ok, more and more organisers require a road legal document and insurance, which might reduce the number of participants.

For my part, I was very happy, no queing up, just riding 2 days in the wood and I enjoyed it.

I think I was only 4th, as I did too many mistakes.
